ROLE PROFILE

We're looking for a strong Backend Developer to join our engineering team.  This role reports into the Head of Development. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities of the Backend Developer are as follows:


  • Being able to contribute to our CICD Pipelines and ensuring smooth delivery of products to a variety of environments.  
  • Comfortable working in AWS or GCP within containerised applications utilizing services such as serverless and/or Kubernetes.
  • Event driven microservice architecture is a great advantage!
  • Build scalable solutions ensuring security is at the forefront of the build process
  • Ensure best practise is maintained and upheld within our backend builds and that code is of the highest quality.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging shouldn’t pose an issue and this aspect of problem solving should be embraced.
  • Keep an eye on emerging technologies to allow the business to constantly evolve and grow.
  • Mentor other members of the team that want to upskill into a backend development language.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with PHP essential.
  • Backend development languages C# (.NET Core) Node, Python all considered. Ideally a mix would be a bonus.
  • Database knowledge whether that be SQL or NoSql based (eg: DynamoDb, Mongo).
  • Solution and architecture design.
  • IaC (Infrastructure as code) ideally in terraform
  • CICD pipeline knowledge
  • Being a great communicator is of the utmost importance as you will have to talk through solutions with third parties and also internally with our products to ensure the project runs smoothly.
  • Experience writing RESTful API’s and integrating with them is a must as almost all services follow this model.
  • Integrations with platforms such as Salesforce, MS Dynamics, SagePay, Stripe, PayPal and similar.
  • Any CMS knowledge whether that be Drupal, Umbraco, Contentful, Hubspot etc would be a bonus.
  • As this is a backend developer role being able 
  • Unit test writing to confirm the application and assist automatically with testing and deployment to protect our application.
  • Native mobile app experience is also an added bonus.
